They block out extraneous noise much better too. The other less annoying feature is the short cord. That is annoying, and unavoidable when moving around during exercise. I have been using the cheaper J-Buds and the sound on these J3's is just so much better. Although they sound great, I have a couple of problems with them. It should be about 6 inches longer. The most important is that if the cord moves around and rubs against your clothing, it transmits a sound directly into your ear.
I saw many reviews complaining about too much treble and that's what made me buy these buds, because I wanted to compensate the horrible sound of mp3 player (Sony E445) which has almost no "highs" and ugly smearing "mids". I tried to adjust it with EQ but it is hard to amplify something that is almost nonexistent. My rating is based on the fact that the buds partly fulfilled what I bought it for, but if you plug it into something that has balanced sound, the highs may be painful.PS: I did let it burn in for couple of hours. At first I was happy to find that the problem with highs was solved, but then I realized that something was missing - mids. There is a hole between highs and lows.
It's kind of hard to describe but after medium periods of using it, I start to get a headache. Definitely agree with a review I read earlier. The treble on these things are messed up. Pros:Looks goodGood fit in earPerfect cord lengthMic works wellBass isn't badCon:Treble is screweddddd (this con basically outweighs all the other pros for me) While I'm not an audiophile, the treble is too tinny yet piercing.
I will blame my ears for the poor fit, other people may be more successful. These earphones are VERY cute and I LOVE the little case it come with (keeps them nice in my purse). I do however have a lot of trouble keeping them in my ears, even after trying every size insert. I've had a lot of trouble with other earphones also. I think that may be effecting the sound because they aren't in my ears very well.
I wanted a decent pair of earphones that were fairly-priced and could reproduce bass frequencies fairly well. I read the reviews for the JBuds J3 Micro Atomic Earphones and wanted to give them a spin. I wanted to leave a review to help others who may be in the market for a higher-quality set of earbuds at a fair price. After receiving them and plugging them into my laptop, I was very surprised on how great they sound and enhance the lower frequency levels. This is my first purchase from Amazon.comI am currently deployed in Afghanistan and wanted to browse for a pair of portable headphones. Being a DJ for a few years before the military, I have become familiar with many headphones and their capabilities to reproduce a wide range of frequencies on different SPL levels. As an added bonus, the case that was included with the headphones is a great compliment. At first glance, I thought these earphones were your typical well-rounded average earbuds.
