Editorial Reviews:

The Black & Decker PS2400SF uses spring loaded batteries for easy installation and removal. It has a six position clutch prevents screws from stripping. The keyless chuck makes for quick and easy bit changes, while the variable speed/reverse motor provides controlled drilling and driving through the mid-handle design (which provides balance and control!) Included in this special package is the drill, a free Stud Sensor, 2 AA batteries, 1 slide-on recharable battery, a recharger, and reversable bit.

User Comments about the Black & Decker 24V Cordless Drill w/ free Stud Sensor

Great price, have used many times around the house for miscellaneous repairs and whatnot. perfect for household use. Has never lost its charge or started to weaken.

It may be heavier than some other drills, but that trade off is worth the extra power. I've had this drill for over 2 years and I love it. The charge will last all day, so I simply charge it overnight. I just built a large deck using a lot of screws and had no issues with it. It has plenty of power and seems well balanced.

The extra high voltage battery allows all day use without fizzling out. This drill is worth more than I paid for it. And the thing I really like about this drill is it's bright orange color which makes it easy to spot when working in a congested workspace. I use this drill every day for a variety of functions including of course drilling and also used for driving screws, wire wheel polishing, sanding with disk, and polishing with a lambswool bonnet. You can't go wrong with this unit. I'd buy it again. Extra large chuck size is a plus as well.

Nice unit, does what I expected it to do.I think it is heavy when compared to some cordless 24v drills, but that said, the lighter 24v unit are a good amount of $ more. This unit drills into wood and metal without an problem. I have not tried them on masonary, but I will soon.I have owned them (I bought 2) for 2 months and they seem to hold their charge very well indeed.I have owned many cordless drill and I would rate these as very good to excellent.Would they hold up everyday of hard labor at a job site, I don't know.I do know they do every job I ask them to do around the house and cabin.I would buy them again. Tightening and untighening screws is a snap.

So you have to ask yourself what kind of jobs do you typically do and then match the tool accordingly. One of those "how did I ever live without it" purchases. It just isn't made for heavier duty use. As you move up the skill ladder, this tool quickly becomes inadequate. Of all the cordless tools available, I would say the cordless drill is the most important, most used, most appreciated cordless tool you can own. If you are an extremely light user, this tool will do fine. It is no workhorse. and it is light on the wallet.
