I am thinking I can just charge it once every couple of months. I bought this and stick it in the bathroom so that I don't have to turn on the light to go pee. Saves from having to turn on the main light, which activates the vent fan - very noisy. Oh, it uses 3 AAA batteries.This light works great because it has a sticker mount and the mound also has a magnet, so I just stick it on the light holder above the mirror. I also install low discharge batteries so I don't have to charge it too often.
I think the best feature of this is the magnetic mount. Also, the head swivels but not as much as I would like so I can't direct the light exactly where I want but that's easily fixed by moving the unit. You can mount this with the included double-sided tape, screws (included) or with the built in magnetic mount.best feature.There are three white LED's and it's not as bright as I would like but adequate.
I wish it stayed on for 30 seconds instead of 12. Since the package advertised that it could detect motion within 13 ft, I originally put it at the far side of the garage. I mounted the light about 6ft off the ground on the side wall of the garage. It didn't work. Otherwise, it works fine. So I had to move it closer to the front, so it could detect me opening the garage door about 3 ft away.
There are also 2 places where you can screw it down to somewhere. Plus I don't have to search for the garbage cans in the dark. The magnet works like a charm. This was a fantastic find. A few times I've gone out there in the dark with "critters" around. This provides me enough light to know if there is one lurking in a dark corner. I just have this on the vertical drainage pipe. It is day sensitive so when I walk by it during the day time it does not light up.
I don't have a light outside of the garage door where we have our garbage cans. It puts out efficient light. I like this product so much that I'm thinking of getting a few more for future use. It comes with magnet in place and also a little square of double sided sticky pad.
This light works fine EXCEPT.1) it's clearly marked with a warning for "inside". I didn't discover the shortcomings until I'd already tossed the packaging and loaded the batteries.Bummer. The product description says indoor or outdoor.2) on "auto", the light only stays on 12 seconds; it can't be changed. Maybe that's long enough to locate the light and switch it to "On".Would be fine for an indoor application, but I was looking for an outdoor use.
