They are pretty handy and have a good amount of holding power. I got these things for free, after I had passed them up many times because they were to expensive for a plastic clamp. I must admit, grudgingly, that these are pretty darn good. They are super fast to use and are easy to adjust with one hand.(useful when you are holding a board in place with the other). I use them for clamping boards to the sawhorse, holding things in place for fastening.They allow you to get the boards sucked up tight before you drive a screw.
