User Comments about the Milwaukee 0780-20 28-Volt Cordless Wet/Dry Vacuum

If you already have other Milwaukee 28-volt tools (with a battery pack and charger) this vacuum is a great addition to your collection.Pros: HEPA filter, easy to carry, good suction, good run time on a single charge.Cons: replacement filter specs/part number not documented in manual, debris compartment sometimes difficult to open.I bought this vac for quick parrot room clean-ups. Vacuuming is now much less traumatic. Regular corded vacs really frighten my birds: the trailing cord seems to evoke their innate fear of snakes.

Crossing my fingers. I got the 28V because I read where the charge lasts longer. This is no wimpy vacuum. The hose is too short and flimsy so now I have to bend low. Small means furniture, cabinets, chairs, etc. Old means lots of corners with woodwork especially the baseboards that are a bit grungy where we haven't "remodeled" yet. We also have a small old house (with lots of character, IMO so we love it). I would be extremely disappointed.

Also, grunge accumulates a lot quicker if you don't vacuum frequently. My current vacuum which is a Miele cannister is small because I wanted to be able to maneuver in our small space. I've used it maybe half a dozen times so far with no problem yet. calls it. Yes, I agree with other posters that the hinges and case surrounding the vacuum have a cheap feel. Guess I will contact Milwaukee. The cons are that this is rather bulky.

It is very good for underneath chairs and desks and couches but my Miele isn't too bad there also since it is relately small (and lightweight). It is the corners and along the baseboards that this cordless vacuum really shines (and also great behind chairs that I don't want to move). I like the Miele and don't plan to get rid of it but I knew I needed more.So my new process now involves using the Miele for the floor (which is mostly hardwood with a few rugs) and for the "middles" as [.]. Seems like I still really "fight" the cable and hose trying to get in the corners and underneath and behind things. I agree with the poster that said it needs a wand especially if you use it for housework. It has full power and seems to suck (in a good way) just as good as my Miele (which wasn't cheap either). I'll report back if something breaks. In the meantime, I don't want to forget to rave about the power.

Still doesn't change my mind that this is WONDERFUL. Of course I wish the main compartment was smaller and lighter but guess I have to wait for them to invent upgrades. I love cordless so much that I went ahead and bought the tool kit of 3 or 4 cordless tools that came with the charger and a couple of batteries now on sale for $699 on Amazon. Yes, I have spent a lot but I think I would have spent $699 just for the cordless vacuum if it means my house will be cleaner. We have a large dog that sheds which makes keeping house clean difficult.

It has revolutionized my vacuuming. But still not maneuverable enough. I can't rate this high enough. THEN I bring out this Milwaukee cordless and use for all the little pockets of dog hair that often accumulate in corners and along the floor rim of cabinets that sit directly on the floor. (1700 sq ft house)The power may be the best part. I have nothing to compare to but I haven't had a problem with the charge not lasting but I rarely keep it on for more than a couple minutes at a time (it is noisy) and I don't vacuum my whole house in one process but tend to break it up doing half on one day and the other half the next day so I'm not a good person to ask about length of charge but it is definitely good enough for my use.

I just hope it doesn't break on me as others have reported. can be a bit crowded if you try to maximize your space. I wish that poster would have said where to get the wand. Also, yes it is expensive when you tack on the battery and charger that isn't included in the main price on Amazon, at least when I bought it. It is kludgy to carry but with no cord, that goes a long way in making up for the kludginess.

Hope this review helps you. It is not. It accordians down to a small U-shaped unit which fits into a holder on the side when not in use. If I get a chance, I'll post a pic since this was one of my questions when purchasing it. The batteries/charger cost more than the unit. I cannot quite give it 5 stars because I think it is still a bit overpriced, and some parts like the hinges, etc., seem a bit on the cheap side and clunky to use. It just isn't as powerful.

But, it has a very usable power for my intended purpose, which is to say, it has enough power to clean up a small "mess" without having to lug out a real vac. The hose is VERY flexible which is nice. A major compromise between power and battery life is that the battery (a big V28 mind you) only lasts maybe 5 minutes. I cannot comment on long-term durability yet. It is fairly easy to carry in one hand and vacuum with the other. First, it should be obvious that this is a bare tool.

A normal shop vac is around 1000W to 1500W, and it is unrealistic to expect this little portable guy with a 1-1/4" hose to have the same power. I find I'm also using it for a surprising amount of small around the house/in the car cleaning/dusting since it is so conveniently portable. Therefore, it is good if you have other V28 tools. This item does not come with a dust brush attachment which I considered a necessity, but luckily I just bought one for a regular home vac. Next, somewhere someone commented that this is as powerful as a corded vac. The cordless portability is the reason to buy.

On the plus side, it uses 1-1/4" accessories which concentrate the available suction well and which are also the standard size for home vacuum cleaners. This is enough for a small project clean-up, but don't expect it to clean up your shop.

the Milwaukee 0780-20 28-volt vacuum does not say in any ads, that the unit does not come with a battery. there should be notations as to "Batteries, not included" You have to buy a battery for $143.00 and a charger fo $32.00, before You can use the vacuum.

Best cordless vac I've ever used. This is a real tool and it's very smartly designed. Makes the Dust Buster and all the others seem like toys.
