Not a huge savings, but I only use it from time to time. I think I saved about 12 bucks that way. I did cut a 3/4" plywood with it. Comes with a bag, no plastic container, which would have been nice, but I knew that before I ordered so no complaint. I bought this from the Skil outlet, reconditioned. The cutting is a little unsure at times and tends to move around a bit. No problem. Works for my purposes.
I am satisfied with the quality and power it gives me. I'd call it a good buy, even though it's factory reconditioned. I am not a daily user, but used it about twice a month. I used it on both wood and metal, and it delivered pretty good job for me.
The description does say it comes with a case, which, in my mind, should mean a hard-sided container. Works well and does what it is intended to do. Reconditioned items are usually a good buy and this is no exception. The canvas bag that does come with it is not as protective as I would like but the saw is still a good buy. (I would be less happy with it if I had paid full retail for it new).
Getting the angle you want and keeping it is not easy. The light burned out right away, I'm older and really wanted the extra light. Bought this new 2 years ago.happy with the cuttting and blade changing. Had it fixed under warranty but they said it would burn our again soon, it did. Would look elsewhere for a better designed saw. The other problem is the adjusting of the bottom plate.
I have used it a couple of months, very happy with it. I would give it 5 stars but I thought something other than a light weight canvas bag should have been included. I have been using it with DeWalt and Bosch blades and have no problems with power or the ease of use.
