Vibration is not bad at all. I just purchased this sander and I love it. It comes with a nice hard case that is big enough so that you do not have to be a rocket scientist to wind up the in some crazy way in order to get it back in the case. You will not be disappointed with this sander, I love it. The cord length is great.
THere was a lot in the box, long cord, two backing pads, variable speed, nice case. The dust bag works better than my porter-cable did. I have no idea why but it is annoying. I bought this sander about a year ago replacing a porter-cable. The problem is the sander jumps around too much. It seems like it has a lot of features but is kind of cheap. I've never had a random orbital sander jump like this one does.
Tough S#*&." But the poor customer service aside, let's talk about the sander: The dust pours out of the dust bag at the junction with the sander. Also, you can get a DeWalt for about $50, and no salses tax at OSH. So why pay $70 for this when it only comes with one backing pad. None of the documentation in the stores, online, not the even the manual had been changed. The sander is well balanced and quiet, but so is the DeWalt. You're going to get a face full of sawdust. This sander used to come with two---that's right---two backing pads: one for hook and loop discs and one for PSA.
When I purchased this, Milwaukee was in transition. I thought I was supposed to be getting two pads. They now supply it with a "universal" pad that is supposed to work with both types. Don't waste your money on this one--you won't get your money's worth. Really it's just a hook and loop pad, but I guess your PSA pads will stick to it because they have adhesive on them. And when I complained they said "gee, you're right. And don't worry about not having a PSA backing pad, because they don't even sell PSA discs at that big Orange home improvement store, so they must not be any good anyway.
This is a major problem because who hooks up their vacuum when they're working on a ladder.
IF you are ANYWHERE NEAR a Home Depot, buy this sander there. This very same one is 69.00 + tax AND you get a very rugged carrying case with it. It pays to shop around.
I had a two handed sander for several years and thought I could never use a one-hander - boy, was I ever wrong. Plenty of power, comfortable and smooth action. Don't settle for a cheap sander. I just like everything about this sander. I have had this about 2 weeks and it works great. Now I can hold my coffee cup. Get a good one - like the Milwaukee 6021. 12 foot cord - very handy.
