This plate is required for adding standard new filters to older wet/dry vacs.It fit perfectly and installation was no problem.
Some people seemed to have had difficulty with these small parts for their Ridgid vacuum cleaners. Everything fit as they should and the VC is back in service. I did an extensive research to make certain that I get the right parts for my VC. I bought this plate, lock nut, filter, filter cage & float as per the MFG's IPC.
The new one makes the vacuum actually work as intended. You'll need to pick one of these up if you have an older Ridgid Wet/Dry vac. I had the 8 gallon Ridgid WD 0800 Wet/Dry vac and the filter it came with had an integrated filter plate.
