User Comments about the Milwaukee 0490-22 4-Volt Lithium-Ion Screwdriver Kit

The charger and spare battery are top quality. I was impressed with the amount of torque generated by this small cordless screwdriver. Combined with the Milwaukee 48-32-1505 40-Piece Screw Driving Set it handles almost anything that can be screwed. I don't have any complaints. The jointed handle is good for fitting into small spaces.

The Milwaukee was a bit pricey, but it was worth it because of its adjustable torque, the batteries last a long time and the interchangeable hub. Also, should it need maintenance, a repair facility is readily available unlike my old screwdriver. I would recommend the Milwaukee screwdriver for all the mentioned features and the fact that it will last for a very long time. Bought this screwdriver as a replacement for another brand that I used that had broken. I repair copiers and turning screws all day really makes my wrist sore. If you need an electric screwdriver, I would get this one. That is why I use the electric screwdriver.

this thing is ONLY good for removing and screwing in screws that were removed. this tool is not bad in my opinion. this is only the second screw driver i've owned, so don't let my opinion persuade you too much. not good for drilling, or screwing screws into new holes. previous to this milwaukee i had dewalt.

It DOES have much longer battery life and more power than the predecessor 2.5 volt which probably makes it worth buying for the most part. Unless you are desperate for owning Milwaukee like I was, I would not give over $75 for this unit and am warning you to keep it away from any and all water. You can't use the unit like a manual screw driver as you could with the older unit as the gear mechanism is NOT a positive lock, and the battery twists locks so it keeps coming unscrewed and falling out. I have had a couple of these get ruined because of using in a partially sheltered area in the rain, and also one got barely dripped on under the edge of a cabinet near a sink while changing a dishwasher supply hose.

I informed Milwaukee of the Battery problem and they just brushed me off like it was nothing, and in no way shape or form was interested in improving their product. (2) the battery keeps falling out. Please write to Milwaukee and let them know this. Regarding cases, it surprises me to no end that Milwaukee still makes a very space wasting slot in their cases for the manual. Would you like to see some of that space actually used to hold driver bit accessories or something useful. I am the proud owner of several Milwaukee tools some that are electric and some that are battery powered and have had nearly 100% satisfaction with all except for a few qualms with this screwdriver.

There is a very small IC in the handle that shorts out when the leads get corroded with mineral deposits, soap, etc and will burn the unit out. However you can lock the button on the side to use it this way. This screw driver's MFRS price of $250 is way out of range for what this unit is. How many of you actually look at your manual every time that you use your drill, etc. THIS TOOL WILL NOT TOLERATE ANY AMOUNT OF WATER THAT GETS INSIDE, we're talking DRIPS. (3) Milwaukee does not make a case for this model.

I am not one to abuse my tools and have not had any problems with the other milwaukee tools that I own. How many are there of you that are like me and like to keep your tool manuals CLEAN and organized in a file cabinet.

Unfortunately, they don't make the model anymore. You can bend the handle, but then you can't use it as a manual screwdriver to give it a little extra torque. I have one annoyance: it's longer than the B&D so it's tougher to fit in tight spots. My trusty B&D power screwdriver finally died. I purchased Milwaukee 0490-22 4-Volt Lithium-Ion Screwdriver Kit and overall am pleased with the purchase. Overall, very pleased with the unit. It holds a charge well, has good power, and gets the job done.
