User Comments about the Milescraft 8401 Trim45 Trim Carpentry Aid

I received the product in as ordered in a timely manner, however that's where the fun ended. I was very disappointed in the Trim Carpentry Aid and would not recommend it to anyone unless they want a conversation piece. Upon opening the product I decided to try the reveal, I adjusted it to a 1/8" reveal and could not get the lock to hold the reveal in place. I'll probably just throw it in my tool box and keep it around for a conversation piece.

The package arrived well ahead of schedule, the instructions for delivery were followed, nothing was damaged and the price was good. DM I haven't used the product but, if I have an experience like the previous reviewer's, I'll post a followup.

The correct use and understanding behind this devise was not explained. On long trim it didn't want to stay put. Doesn't really have a target user.I would rather use my combination square or tri-square for 45 degree marks rather than this piece of plastic. Works best on a short piece of trim. This jig is a great idea but in practice it is way to slow and requires constant fiddling with to work correctly.

I am sending this one back. The instructions that came with it were in Spanish and English and were one page of mostly diagrams. Perhaps with a better set of instructions, someone may be better able to put it in practice.I don't think any serious carpenter would need this. A short piece of trim can be hand measured easily without this however. Long trim is where something like this would be a good idea if it worked. If it would stay put where you needed it then it might be a great product.

I don't think any DIY'er would be able to figure it out. I can't really recommend it. It didn't really hold my tape well to the trim corners.
