I love this product because you are not limited on what size hardy board you hang, it's designed to do it all, and the price was lower than anyone else. And let me add also that I LOVE MY AMAZON.

I borrowed a set from a local contractor to work on siding my house. Necessity. I found that they worked so well that I had to buy a set for myself in case I wasn't completed when contractor needed his back.

Great tool for hanging Hardi siding alone. Just make sure that they are pushed up tight and square against the previously installed piece because any error is accumulative.

Thought I would give them a try and they are a worth while investment. It does not bother me that they are plastic and to tell the truth I am glad they are plastic because they do not marr the siding. You really can not start using them until you get to the second row (at least I could not due to ground clearence), but once that second row is up and level, these gauges really speed up installation. They are easy to use and I was actually suprised how easy it makes putting up the siding.

It works exactly as stated. If you install fiber cement siding you should have this in your arsenal of tools
