In that it does an acceptable job. That is, it is not very user friendly if you just want to measure it out with since it counts in inches from center.I have no idea how the Gecko pads are supposed to work; the level seems no more stable against the wall than any other I have used.I give it 3 stars because, based on my experience, it gives you an accurate reading, which is most important. However, it only works really well if you first compare it to whatever your hanging. From reading other reviewers, I have not had any issues with the level reading accurately. I do not like that there is no opening or window on the top to see the bubble. I think it is overpriced, though. I find this to be a huge inconvenience that could have easily been modified to have a window on the top of the level.The accumark feature works pretty well if you need 2 points.

This is a must have tool for your home. LOL. It works well for hanging pictures, leveling shelves, marking the distance of the studs in walls, totally adjustable to fit your needs, and it does not cost you a arm and a leg. Buy this item to do the job right the first time or you will have to listen to the wife later telling you it is not straight and you will have to re-do the job again.

I purchased this for myself and 2 of my co-workers and we have all decided that this a great tool. If you're in need of a long level, this is the one for you, it's cheap and accurate. It's nice because it has the gecko grips and all the levels were accurate right out of the box. The item was just like the description mentioned it would be and like everyone else has mentioned, the grips make it extremely easy to hold the level and drill at the same time.We haven't been able to do any serious testing yet but from what we've seen, it'll do just fine for everyday work.

I was given this level as a gift and when I tried to use it the marks I made looked off to my naked eye. Based on my results I wouldn't recommend any Black & Decker level. When I checked the level it was off by a good 1/4" from level and 3/16" from plumb.
