No problems. I used 1.5'' as the 2'' nails were pretty tough to drive in with one blow. Nailer worked better than expected. Even though one swift swing was needed to completely sink the nail, using a second blow to finish off if needed was usually not a problem and rarely resulted in bent or twisted nails that needed to removed.
I used this system to install oak flooring. A much better deal and quality than renting (which I used to do). The nailer and hammer worked perfectly and appeared to be new even though they were labeled reconditioned.
No hoses or compressor running either. I'd never used a tool like this before and had people say get the air assisted nailer but this was too good a deal to pass up. This tool was ordered on a Sunday and delivered on Tuesday. It was a nice workout, I'm 60 and it was a pleasure to use. Highly recomended. An occasional jam was easy to fix.
Got the refurb nailer and immediately noticed that the drive plunger had been hit with a regular hammer leaving deep marks. On the positive the paint finish was good and the hammer was new. The plunger assembly was very dirty and the paw that ratchets the plunger when it doesnt go down all the way is almost completely worn out.
The nailer arrived and we got started. We had no trouble at all, but my husbands arm may never be the same. The nailer worked just fine even with the ratchet broken. We have more rooms we want to do. We were laying hardwood flooring in our living and dining rooms.
We just had to hit it once, really hard. Rather than renting a nailer, we decided to buy our own. About 1/4 of the way through, the ratchet broke on the nailer. The floor turned out beautifully and we will continue to use this nailer. We were sent the part to repair it, but by the time it got here, we were already most of the way done.
