Editorial Reviews:

The Dremel multi-vise helps you secure your project or free up a hand for extra control when using your Dremel rotary tool. The removable cushioned jaws on the 2500-01 help protect delicate workpieces while providing a firm, steady grip, and they clamp to any worksurface up to 2-1/2 inches thick. This holder turns your Dremel rotary tool into a stationary sander, grinder or polisher, and the removable jaws create a stand-alone bar clamp on the Dremel 2500-01.

User Comments about the Dremel 2500-01 Rotary Tool Multi-Vise

Seems a bit flimsy. Awkward to change out the vise arms. Large size for what it does.

[[ASIN:B000P4W3LU Dremel 2500-01 Rotary Tool Multi-Vise IS HANDY AS IT NOT ONLY IS USED A VISEBUT IS DESIGHNED TO HOLD THE DREMEL ROTORY TOOLTO FREE BOTH HANDS FOR BETTER CONTROL. IT IS REASONABLEY PRICED.

The reviews gave me low expectations. The blue contact pieces of the clamp are the 'soft' pads. This is a 'rotary tool multi-vise' which is an accurate description of this product--a multiple position clamp/holder for rotary tool projects. Those are removable and give a good amount of cushion and support to hold your project. The solid feel and the range of grasping angles caught me by surprise. The vise is absolutely fine, solid, and reliable. Much impressed by the demo, I took one home right away. You can also use the clamp independent of the base.

The clamp slides along the rail when you hold a release button and squeezes to a firm grip with the knob. At my local home improvement store, I saw and reluctantly tried a display. I read a few reviews of the vise being made of plastic and that it wasn't very solid. I wanted a vise that could bend to fit my projects, this is it. Now realize, this is very compatible with rotary tools in that it's not meant for heavy duty work--like bearing down and ripping through 2x4's.

There is an attachment to mount the tool instead of the clamp. The plastic bits are hard molded and there is a fair amount of cast metal. I didn't want to buy something I'd regret. Perhaps 'vice' is a misleading word in that regard--this isn't a hunk of metal bolted to a bench. Like I said, I was against this product, but once I tried one it was a perfect match.

I've used this vise for wood working projects (custom guitar parts) and cutting bolts and other remodeling work.

first use was to hold a cookoo (sp) clock while i was repairing the ballasts. so, summary - this is an excellent light duty vise. this was obviously old, and as the vise mounts anywhere, i was able to attach it easily to a table AWAY from everyone else. the vise left no marks afterwards due to its pressure adjustment handle, as this is a wooden clock.

This is the most versatile vise I have ever owned. Would recommend this vise to ANY handyman or hobbiest john hammond With all the adjustments, most any job is possible.
