I don't usually use C-clamps 'cause it's such a pain to unscrew/screw them [usually just use Quick Clamps]. The speed release feature on these clamps makes them a whole bunch more practical and user friendly.
I ordered three sets of these speed release clamps and combined with another item they shipped for free from Amazon. My only concern is how well they will hold up - just an irrational fear that they are too good to be true - the speed release is something that modifies the screw and thread. I have ordered three more sets. The primary drawback of "C" clamps is the time it takes to adjust them. But at least initally they seem a great bargain.
They are inherently strong, require little if any maintainence and exert a lot of pressure and best of all they are relatively cheap. Amazon only lets you order three sets at a time, which indicates to me that they are making Bubkis on them - good for me not so good for them - yet it is their business model.Although the picture is in black, mine were gray. They were about twice the weight of the H*F* I use for cheap clamps- the two pair I throw in the tool box for what if - and appear to be well finished. The quick release works well.
But no big deal. How they can make and deliver these clamps (2 in a box) from China to my front door for less that $8 per box will always amaze me. I bought 6 of these c-clamps. The quality is pretty good. These are great little clamps. The quick release button sticks a little on me.
