User Comments about the Get Organized Easy Shredding Scissors

Great product. Just be sure to rest once in awhile to avoid hand cramps and watch those sharp blades. This shredding scissors is very handy especially when you need to shred a small piece of information such as a mailing label or those irritating credit card offers with your name plastered in twenty different places. No need to start up the huge motorized shredder.

before tossing envelopes, magazine covers, etc. Works great on normal paper, though. Also don't recommend for credit cards like the photo shows--difficult to cut with the multiple blades. Excellent product -- I use it daily when sorting through the mail, to cut off/shred personal info (name, address, etc). (Rather than putting the entire page through my full-sized shredder). I bought several pair for gifts since trying them, as well as a 2nd pair for myself so I can have one in the kitchen (where I open/pitch junk mail) and in the office. I can't actually recommend it for sheets of mailing labels (you know, the kind charities send to you that you don't want because your name is misspelled or something)--they are too sticky and get caught in the blades.

The scissors does its job, it shreds but it sure makes a big mess when all the pieces fly everywhere. I also have to cut the paper a few times to avoid being able to read the text on it.But at least I don't have to worry about it overheating or causing noise pollution like my old shredder.

The upkeep is pretty easy and kinda fun. If you need to shred a lot of credit cards, use a bigger shredder. These aren't super shears, people. This is great for shredding small amounts (like your name and apt number so your anal and nosy landlord won't put unauthorized trash back on your doorstep). Paper doesn't really get stuck between the blades (like with regular shredders) but it does spray a little, depending on the paper stock and how you cut. This is for smaller jobs so choose the instrument that best suits your needs. The only other slight annoyance is that items with a lot of static cling are difficult to throw away after shredding.as in they won't come off your hand and into the wastebasket. As for the complaint that it doesn't shred credit cards easily, let me ask: How easily do regular scissors cut credit cards.

It is effective and I will buy it again. People who are not good with their hands will often get blade paper jams. Feels cheap. The shredder is all steel with plastic covered handles. The imperfectly aligned and imperfectly looking blades cut five strait lines.Cross cut and you get tiny squares (1/3cm or 1/8in) which are actually better than what you get from a typical cross cut shredder.People who are careful will be able to get perfect square cross-cuts. I would give this 3.5 stars because it is cheap. I would give it 4 to 4.5 stars for what it does or what you can do with it.So don't get me wrong, do buy it and leave it in your car or on your desk.Mine came in black handles, not red as in the picture. It is kind of loose. So don't complain about jams, its a manual shredder.-------------------------update 4/27/2009I just got my order for another set. This one is tighter. Both are working great still.(first one 3/31/2009) I tightened the three screws, but didn't help much.
