turned out to be a faulty circuit board with a improperly soldered inductor. received scroll saw in a timely manner, but it did not run. was supposedly warranted, but factory authorized repair facility would not work on it without paper from RYOBI. do not believe the saw was factory reconditioned as stated. did not want to hassle with shipping and repair bills, so repaired it myself.
I will live with the vibration and the peeling decals and rather than ship the saw back for a refund I will have the blower repaired locally. I mounted the saw on a 1 inch piece of plywood and clamped it to my work bench. This is the first scroll saw that I have ever used. I am a little surprised at the vibration. I will buy my tools from local venders from now on. The blower does not work and the RYOBI decals are peeling off.
I bought this reconditioned saw for under $100 and it looked new out of box ,have used it several times and am still using same blade came with it ,everything worked great and easy to operate and maintain ,I expect to get many years of service ,has oil opening to oil bearings and can even replace brushes on armature with easy access ,I believe this one of the best buys I come across in years ,I'd highly recomend this saw.Tim
If your looking for a great scroll saw for your hobby shop, this is it.I've been using it and it works great.I build and fly scale rc helicopters and design some of my own parts. This scroll saw makes cutting them out very easy and precise.Enjoy.
It was ready to go right out of the box which surprised me. I could and would advise anyone to purchase this saw. I am arthritic but I find the blade changes and tensioning very easy to do. This saw was a little bigger than what I was looking for but the price was right. It runs smooth and quiet which also surprised me. All 'round, VERY NICE. My skills lay a little above novice but I am very happy with this saw.
