Editorial Reviews:

Despite the fact that computers have become commonplace at home and at workplaces for a long time, true user friendliness of the computers is still a long shot. Zalman strives to make that goal a closer reality through extensive research and development of its products and will continue to put efforts to creating more enhanced levels of user friendliness in computing.PRODUCT FEATURES:Compatible with all single and dual core CPUs for Intel's Socket 775 and AMD's Socket AM2/754/939/940;100% copper heatsink with aerodynamically optimized tunnel design for maximum cooling efficiency;Innovative and patented, curved heatpipe design for a heat transfer capacity of up to six heatpipes with the use of just three;40.2mm ultra-slim fins for minimized weight and reduced airflow resistance;Ultra quiet CNPS 110mm LED fan;Does not generate noise or vibration in Silent Mode;Adjustable fan speed controller (FAN MATE 2) included;Super Thermal Grease (ZM-STG1) included.

User Comments about the Zalman CNPS9700LED Ultra Quiet Cpu Cooler

Unit is well made, quiet, and moves a lot of air. The unit does take up a lot of room inside the case so check out the Zalman's dimensions and your PC case before you order so you won't be disappointed later. The mounting mechanism seems well thought out and is secure once attached. The fins of the heatsink are more durable than they look but you still need to be careful around them when working in the case.

Works very well. Otherwise perfect. I have used 5 of these and never had any problems. Installing is not as easy as it might be, and usually requires removing the motherboard from the case.

Somewhat heavy, so make sure it fits your case before buying. Keeps my Q6600 around 26C at idle, around 38 @ max load, a significant reduction from my stock heat sink that came with my Q6600 which maxed out around 59C @ full load, around 38C idle. But as long as you are careful (like with any computer product) you should have no trouble at all. Huge. I have an Antec 900 case so I had sufficient space. Did I mention it looks awesome in my case as well. It is also known to be fragile.

It works flawlessly and keeps my CPU as cool as a cucumber. It was a pretty close fit. My 11 year old son likes the cooler with it's blue LED's along with the red and yellow LED's on the memory and the blue, green and tricolor LED case fans. This was a relatively easy install, but I have been building my own machines since 1988. You should be forewarned, to do your research and make sure the case is big enough for this cooler. I installed this cooler in an Antec 900 case on an XFX 780i motherboard. I couldn't be more pleased and of course you have the cool factor. I hope this helps.

I don't think this would be a good idea for a novice unless they are mechanically inclined. You would only want to install this massive cooler on the board before installing the board in the case. Chris If you are doing an upgrade you will almost without a doubt have to remove the motherboard to install this cooler.

I can't recommend this cooler highly enough. Take care with it or you'll slice your hands up. I've used several Zalman cooling products, including water cooling, and all their stuff is of excellent quality and reliability.I've bought three of these fans for my most recent builds, and they are fantastic. Even with a quad core CPU, I run this on the lowest speed and it keeps things nice and cool (and quiet). The only "con" is that they're dangerous to handle.
