I have had over the years bits that could be used for undersized plywood but none that you could use for melamine and standard thickness lumber. Looking forward to using them on a project soon.
These bits area good price but generally you get what you pay for and these are no exception. Probably 2 1/2 stars max. After just a few plywood dados using the 23/32 bit, it was dull. I had to buy another branded bit to finish the job.
I recently purchased this set on sale and have used many of the bits. They may not be the quality that you would want or need for production work, but for modest use, the price and quality is unbeatable. It comes in handy when using them for baltic birch, plywood and MDF dados that are rarely the "standard" size. It has a +1/32" bit and a -1/32" bit for the standard wood sizes of 1/2" and 3/4", and a +1/32" and a -1/64" for the 1/4" size.
When on sale, this set is a great value. A good value. They aren't up to the quality of Whiteside or Freud, but the price isn't anywhere near there either.
Using the 1/4 inch cutting box joints in 1/4" thick walnut, the bit broke off at the juncture of the cutting part of the bit and the 1/2" shaft after 14 cuts. Bit barely missed my head when it was popped up by the spinning router.Be careful using the smaller cutters. I was using a Freud router mounted in my router table with an Incra jig spacing jig.
