It is HEAVY if you have to hold it for long periods. It is however useful and functional for the money. You get only one cheap wool buffer pad. You need more and they can be hard to find.It has no carrying bag - only the box it comes in.It has a short cord - you need an extension to do anything. It is easy to adjust the speed with the convenient toggle. Not sure if it will work for the long haul yet but appears sturdy.
The rubber pad and string tie buffer supplied work, but you will have to add different pads for stick on foam pads or the heavier duty buffing pads with a center attaching nut.Buff And Shine (BUFTP-2) Tripac No. It works well. This buffer appears to be heavily built with a metal gearbox. The only problem is that the variable speed dial turns too easily. 2 Wool and Foam Buffing Pad KitIs typical of the type of product that you need for this buffer. It is conveniently positioned, but the location means that you can inadvertently change the speed if you change your hand position.
Another thing is that when the buffer spins down I hear some grinding. There is some cosmetic damage on the metal area that is close to where the plastic area begins. The buffer is fast and the wool bonnet you get does a good job of taking off the wax and leaving a nice shine. I just got this a week ago. It is pretty heavy. It is very sturdy also, but I have one problem. I don't know if this is normal. I still have to use it more to get a better feel of it.
I tested it out and it works. I think it's ok but I hope there is nothing wrong with it. I will update the review if anything comes up. This is my first professional buffer.
Just like the items you buy at Wal-M. We didn't even get to finish the job. Same scenario here.We used it one time and it broke. This looks, feels, works like and has the same components but is made with the cheaper variety of parts. The items at that store are made for that store and are made of cheaper materials. We also purchased the Vector brand at the same time and it keeps on working and it finished the job. That is why you can buy them for less money.
I have a black Corvette and the paint was showing so many fine scratches that the paint actually looked a bit grey rather than deep gloss black. Nearly all the fine scratches are gone and the paint is now a deep and gorgeous gloss black. I'm also looking forward to finding a grinding disk for it as it definitely has plenty of power for that as well. I've never polished a car's paint before buying this machine but I decided it would be cheaper to buy this unit than it would be to pay for a professional to polish my car just once - and now I have the polisher for the future. It was easy with this powerful machine.
It was much easier than I planned so I highly recommend this even if you've never done it before. I couldn't find the two-step polishing compounds at my local store so I just tried Meguiare's Ultimate Compound and it worked great with this machine and the single pad that came with it. By the way, this is a 7 inch diameter polisher. After about 2 hours of work, my corvette paint looks AWESOME.
