Editorial Reviews:

There's no tool like a router for edging, trimming or cutting. Skil's Reconditioned 1-3/4 horsepower fixed-base router can perform all the functions needed in a home workshop or on the job site while drawing only 9 amps at full RPM. The 1/4-inch quick-change collet accepts a wide range of bits and cutters. The Skil 1810's Micro-Fine Depth Adjustment makes bit depth adjustments fast, easy and accurate while the soft-grip handles are ergonomically designed for comfort and ease of use. The wide base opening allows for quick and easy bit changes. Accepts Skil's 91018 18-Piece Carbide Router Bit Set as well as most other brands of 1/4-inch bits. Ideal for woodworkers, hobbyists, carpenters and cabinet makers.

User Comments about the Factory-Reconditioned Skil 1810-RT 1/4-Inch 120V Fixed Base Router

Excellent router, unfortunately the price at the time seemed awesome, I picked up a Skil router table which included a brand new Router for not much more at a local DIY store. For the uses I intended it for (light duty, hand held routing, to avoid having to change the router bits) this router is absolutely superb.Again, CPO reconditioned tools have not let me down.

There really isn't much to say about this thing. The window on the front is large enough to see what you're doing in most cases, but you'll either want to work in a well-lit area or have a flashlight handy, because not a lot of light gets into the cutting area. It does what its supposed to without problems. Fits standard router bits, and has good grips for maneuvering.

WELL THE FIRST ROUTER SHOWED UP BUSTED UP IN 4 PLACES I COULD NOT BELEAVE IT AND SO THEY SHIPPED OUT ANOTHER AND WHEN I SAW HOW BUSTED UP THE BOXES WHERE I COULD NOT BELEIVE IT WAS IN GOOD SHAPE WELL ALL I COULD DO WAS TURN IT ON AND BOY IT SURE SOUNDS GREAT AND WORKS WELL NO COMPLANTS EXCEPT THE WAY IT WAS TREATED JUST TO GET HERE THANKS GUYS

I think it regularly sells for $60, and quite frankly, I would not be unhappy with it at that price either. Best $30 I've ever spent. Bought this re-conditioned on sale for $30. If you need/want a 1/4 inch shaft bit router, you can't beat this for the money. You're not going to build major furniture with this, but if you want to be able to do most other things that a 1/4 inch shaft router will do, this is an excellent buy. I have used it in a router table also and it works remarkably well there, as long as you are mindful of the 1/4 inch bit limitation.
