I have had 3 of these now,1 was junk straight out of the box new, 1 is still working and I'm waiting for another replacement since the 1st replacement was bad too.
I wouldn't use this for portable dvd players or video players. I bought this hoping to use it with my archos 630 video player. Sadly it doesn't even add more than 30 mins of playback time. Its rated draw power is about 350 mah. Its made for less demanding electronics like phones, pda's etc.
It didn't charge the iTouch at all, so don't count on that. I gave it two stars based on the Amazon price. It's a little bigger and bulkier than an SNES game cartridge. I got two for $15, and would give it three based on that. I tested it on my Zune 30 and my friend's iTouch 8gb. It didn't charge my laptop. I plugged in my Zune AC wall charger into the pocket power AC outlet and had a little more success.
It's about the weight of a shoe. It charged my Zune, but took pretty much two of these using the USB charging outlet to charge it from completely empty (non-functioning) to completely full (green battery icon). I guess I can only recommend this if you find two really cheap and you have a Zune. It didn't quite take two.
This battery pack has a USB port that I can confirm works with the iPhone 3G.The battery is a 1200 mAh NiMH battery that should just about charge an iPhone 3G from 0% to 100%.
This process will continue until everyone's service is restored. This is a must have item for every home. I was without electricity after Hurricane Ike and I was able to fully charge my cell phone and iPod using the battery pack. I am ordering some to give as Christmas gifts. When my electricity was restored, I was able to charge it and pass it on to friends without service so that they can at least charge their phones.
