Also the bulls eye level on the top makes dog leg's a thing of the past. I've had both a Greenlee and Ideal torpedo level before and checkpoint blows them both away. This level is real nice. The magnets are WAY stronger and this particular level has more angles to work with (most levels don't include the 22.5* angle for making three bend saddles when bending pipe). All of my fellow electricians are jealous of my checkpoint 305 :) I've never needed to replace one of the level cylinders but if I did it's nice to know they are replaceable.
It has 4 rare earth magnets which really hangs on to what ever you stick it to. This level the 305 on the other hand is tall, bulky and heavy and only has only 3 rare earth magnets. It is twice the weight and is top heavy. I had checkpoint 300 until someone decided they wanted it and took it from me. It has a tendency to want to fall off of things when bumped and if it does fall off of a lift it puts a huge dent on the corner because of it's weight factor. it easily fits into a tool pouch or back pocket and is easy to find in your pouch. This is a great looking level but I wanted something that was designed to to do what I needed it to do.
If you're a professional I strongly suggest getting a Checkpoint 300 instead. I didn't realize how nice the level until I bought this level. I liked this level mainly because it had a 22 degree bubble on it which is great for electrical pipe bending. Since it is so bulky it is harder to fit in your tool bag and it is hard to when you need it because it's short and sinks down into your bag and you have to dig to find it.My Checkpoint 305 dropped off of lifts too many times and the main vial finally broke, Checkpoint guarantees it's vials from breakage with free replacement vials but this was a great reason to get rid of it. The problem I found is that it is top heavy, bulky, stubby and weighs too much. To start off the Checkpoint 300 design is great because it is slim, long and lightweight. I just replaced this level with the Checkpoint 300 and will never stray again.
It has vile windows for the 30 and 45 degree vials on the top of the level, this is very useful when bending pipe.
The reason is they are 45 minute fast accurate vials that give you perfect precise readings. There is a reason for the bubbles in vials seeming so small. We certainly hope you will reconsider maybe an UltraMag with a larger zero degree vial. I'm a sprinkler fitter This is by far the best level I have used so far. V grooved on the magnetic side, Excellent for all piping projects. Great holding power and the perfect size.
A very nicely machined level with a strong magnet and several handy features such as vee grooves to accommodate checking corners and round stock. I returned the unit for credit. The big negative was the bubble in the vile was way to small for the allotted space between the reference marks. It was difficult to consistently center the bubble in such a large space.
