This tool makes cutting Hardi-plank siding like cutting butter. It is easy to use and does a great job.
If doing siding with concrete siding I highly recommend this little babe. This baby cuts through concrete siding like a hot knofe through butter. This is the best thing since bubble gum. Angle cuts straight cuts with no dust. Light weight, easy to cut, no dust, who could ask for anthing more. Noise is minimal so easy on the ears.
I was giving it very light usage, cutting 1/4 inch HardieBacker. and they fixed it fast. They had a new side knife here in less than 24 hours. but one of the side knives broke within the first half hour of use. I just bought one of these cement shears.
Obviously there was a defect. It worked great. I was very disappointed because the whole house is torn up and the job is stuck intil I get a new tool. Thanks DeWalt. I explained this to the DeWalt Warranty people on their toll free line.
I helped my brother in the law several years ago do the Hardie Board siding on the main house and what a mess it was cutting with a circular saw, it was after that experience that I knew there had to be a better way to cutting Hardie board. I read a few of the other reviews in which the tool was given a low rating and I'm skeptical because I've never had a Dewalt fail on me, in fact my 12 volt drill which gets used all the time and purchased in 1997 still has the same batteries. A few years go by and my brother wants to do the siding on the back apartment so I started to do some research on alternatives to cutting Hardie Board and decided on the Dewalt Cement board shears and it was the best investment and NO DUST.
Great tool for a do-it-yourselfer. Well worth every penny. Produces little, to no dust. Highly recommend it.
