So, I bought this little-wonder and was amazed how well it worked. I have had no misfires or any other problems. I would normally recommend using other fasteners except for the way I built them. Otherwise, the only thing I used was this Grip Rite 18 gauge brad nail gun.
The Grip Rite is less than 3 pounds which is up to half the weight of some others. And the cabinets are strong as a rock. I then put up crown molding with ease. The combination of the extra supports and several brads made for very sturdy cabinets. I was amazed just how versatile this tool is. When trying to build kitchen cabinets I became frustrated with the hammer and nail-set method.
No glue, screws or other nails. I used far more supports than you would find in the average built kitchen cabinets. I am sure I will be able to find many other projects to use this brad nail gun on. And I was able to build the cabinets in a fraction of the time than using the old method. I screwed the cabinets to the wall and also the ceiling on the upper cabinets. Such as, full length 1x2 boards in the corners plus several cross supports.
It is easy to load and use and I highly recommend it. I also used the brads on one-quarter inch inserts for the doors without splitting the wood.
