User Comments about the Grip-Rite GRTFN250 1-1/4-Inch to 2-1/2-Inch by 16 Gauge Finish Nailer

It was simple to use and worked well on some new baseboards that I used it to install. I live in Dallas and could not find them anywhere locally, nor any place online to order them. I wanted to be able to fill in the holes with putty so they would be hidden. I might need to play with it a little more, but a little more power would be nice. I was shopping for a 16 Gauge finish nailer and found this one on sale.

I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the nailer and the included case and accessories. I only have two minor complaints. My second complaint is the lack of availability of fasteners made by Grip-Rite. I ended up purchasing another brand that work fine, but I would have preferred using Grip-Rite's own as they recommended. It had all the features I was looking for from a fairy well known brand.

First, I had trouble getting it to fire the nails into the trim so they were counter sunk below the surface of the wood. Otherwise, I'm satisfied with this nailer and would recommend it. I tried using shorter nails, turning up the air pressure, and setting the depth control to max but the nails would either stick out a little or set flush.
