I heard many people would have to toss them after use. We got the BLUE Ridgid VF5000 Microban Treated Fine Dust Replacement Filter at Home Depot for about 23.00. Cleaning a 2,500 square foot house twice with this filter. When it got really full we had to empty the canister and clean the filter outside the house a few times per hour.
NOT SO. We let it sit and dry overnight and it was like brand new. When we were finished I thought that this filter was shot. We got the ORIGINAL filter and put it aside when we were cleaning our house. We cleaned all the drywall dust from my house with this bad boy. Not with this. I took it home and dusted it off with my other sweeper and cleaned it - then ran under warm water and rinsed all the fine dust off.
Now I just need to know what I can use for WET VACCUMING. It was well worth it. The finest dust was cought. Love RIGID. But well worth the extra work cleaning then getting a new one.
Filter works great. I bought two. It was a little different than the original filter, but was the upgrade Ridgid recommended.
