On the MLCS web-page, they show several different stands available. The mounting holes are pre-drilled and will fit most any router. This takes some precision work and you may not feel you can do this properly. The box is constructed from a sturdy plywood and is nicely finished. You need to be aware that you are purchasing the table-top only.
You must purchase the stand separately. The one pictured here sells for about $50. Most of the others I looked at were made of "particle board" which chips fairly easily. Assembly is easy enough for the novice. If you think you are getting the stand (pictured) as part of this purchase, you will be disappointed.
Another thing I did not like is having to drill and counter-sink the holes for mounting your router. Overall if you can live with a table-top router table this Bench Dog, in my opinion, is the way to go. If you don't mind a table top model then the "Bench Dog 40-001 ProTop Contractor Benchtop Router Table" is a solidly built unit.
On the sellers home site, there is a clear "Table Sold Separately" sign near the photo but not on Amazon. I am working my way slowly through assembly but it would be faster if I had more than the "exploded parts diagram" to go by. This is a quality product but has no instructions for assembly. Also, on Amazon, the photo next to the item shows a router table undeneath the table-top and fence. Amazon should ask MLCS to either provide a photo without the table or the same photo with "Table not included" stamped clearly near the photo. Although, strictly speaking, the text makes it clear that the table is not included in the purchase, I didn't read it carefully enough and thought I was buying the table also.
The MLCS router table top and fence is a good value. I've used the router table with a Bosch 1617 router to build a cabinet for the router table top. Mine was delivered with a slightly bent aluminum L bracket for the fence assembly. I contacted MLCS and within a week I had a new and dead straight L bracket, no charge, no hassle.
Also that the inserts could have had some sort of standard pre-drills in the insert for the router. A nice square fence and beefy enough for stability. MLCS does a pretty good job with this table. I also really like the magnets in the inserts. I had to drill and counter sink all the holes myself. Two things I wish were different. They should have included adhesive measuring tape for the sides of the table for more accuracy when adjusting the fence.
My dad is very pleased. It is just what he was looking for to make cabinets for our kitchen.
