User Comments about the Actron CP7875 PocketTherm Infrared Thermometer

This a great little item. It will help you save money on the power bill. It helped me find air leaks around my home. Now we have had most of the leaks fixed.

Even holding it 2 inches away seems to make the measured temperature drop a degree (which is ok since this is only accurate to +- 2 degrees anyway.Overall, for $18, it was a good buy, and will help me brew the perfect cup of coffee by letting me know what temperature the brewing water is. This is small and kind of cool looking, which is nice. However, it has a 1:1 spot ratio, meaning that if you hold it even 10" away from your hand, it will measure a 10" circle, much bigger than your hand. But I'm sad I can't aim it across my desk to see how hot something is. The end result is that if you want to know how hot your coffee is, you need to hold it about an inch or less from your coffee cup.

With the under twenty price tag who can complain. If nothing else we have have relative peace & and good old fashioned fun & laughs. Most normal toys catch their attention only briefly but this thing has him enchanted. Relatives & Friends who normally visit only on holidays are coming over frequently, and begging to borrow it. There is a smile on his face, a sprig in his step, and wonder in his eyes.

He hasn't shut up since and that's worth more than words can describe. I like that we were able to test the temp on the hood of a '79 TransAm we just painted and realized we needed to move it to more shadows. AWESOME. WoW. I guess we'll have to draw numbers to see who gets to play with it next. My teen son says this is perfect for his aquarium use and I'll be ordering a second one for him. If your child suffers from some form of autism then you know what I mean. Probably save us from food poisoning. Then the best reward of all is seeing our severely autistic child come out of his shell by being given this thing to play with.

This device has become a favorite already and we've only had it a few days. It measured accurately for eveything we've tested so far. He's conversing with any and everybody and is so proud of himself. I even took it to the grocery store and was surprised to find out that I should not be buying some packaged meats & dairy products due to the low temp readings.

I love this thermometer. I cant wait to use it on our ghost hunting. It works and its so sensitive to heat and cold.

Small, kinda chinsey. This should have cost half the price I paid. Cannot tell where the device picks up its temperature reading (no visual line to target). I have since seen better devices for not much more money.
