The Dynamo is a versatile subwoofer with a 10" aluminum woofer and a 200 watt internal amplifier. It features a user-configurable design which can be used in either the forward or downward firing position. The advanced control system of the Abyss allows simultaneous connection of 2-channel stereo music and multi-channel home theater. The base response for the Abyss ranges from 25 to 120 Hz.

User Comments about the MartinLogan DYNBLD Dynamo 10-Inch Subwoofer (Single, Black)

1st subwoofer we have owned. Only problem for us is that, if the sound is too loud, the unit can actually vibrate out of the shelves where it resides. It was easy to connect and we are pleased with the sound.

ft). We have been running some original Cambridge Soundworks Ensemble speakers in a large room (3900 cu. I brought my old ADS 1090's up from the basement to make a better pairing than the Ensembles. Music sounds excellent and my family loves the low frequency movie effects. This my family's first sub woofer. with a cathedral ceiling. We now have great soun--music is excellent, movies need a better center speaker. This sub does not have any "boominess", responds evenly across the low frequencies, and was a great buy for the money. Located it in a corner, downfiring.

How. My only fear is that with the down-firing mode, the speaker is left exposed as the grill is not used. You better not have kids or pets/rodents poke their fingers underneath or they'll ruin this baby. Specifically I wanted a musical powered subwoofer. I hope to update you in a few days. They'll match that price. Popped in Lil Kim's LP in my Denon turntable and I'm loving the sound. The music comes to life.

On the Magnolia site it's listed as ML 200Watt. Downfiring, so you won't need the grill unless you set it up as front firing. Oh, and the wife had no complaints as this thing is just about the length of a legal-size paper. Nice warm sound but I wish I could get more base.

The bass is not boomy but seamlessly blends in. I got it for $324. My 2 front towers (Athena LS-series) are powered by a Denon. Call your local BestBuy Magnolia. First impressions - it's still in it's 3rd hour of burn-in. Conclusion - I can't wait to hear it after the 50-hrs.

At first I wasn't impressed but now I'm convinced I've found a winner.Built quality - It's got a clean finish. All my research kept pointing back to the MartinLogan Dynamo 10", 200-Watt powered sub. MartinLogan recommends at least 50-hrs but I'm already impressed with this gem. Buy it. Switched to a movie, Matrix Revolutions, and again I'm loving the quality.

Its so powerful and light that when used in the downfiring position it walks. Well worth the money. I don't want to use the included spikes due to floor damage. The power cord will sometime come loose as well but the sub is amazing, so much detail and power in a little package.

Let me say that everything I had read on amazon and on the forums about this sub is true. Now please use a decent receiver with this, one that has bass management (mine is set to pass-thru 80HZ. I viewed HULK on cable and the power and detail that this sub puts out is outstanding. For reference I kept my BIC at 5.5 out of 10 volume or 1 o'clock or so. To say that this sub brought out new details out of cable shows in dolby digital is a severe understatement.

In all aspects for HT this sub shines. I suggest you use only 2.1 channel for music listening as it produces the best sound as opposed to matrixed channels. It is clear that the components in this subwoofer are of the highest quality available. This sub is also 20-30% smaller in footprint than my old sub. I bought the BIC on the cheap (under $200) and the return on investment was good as it performed well for many years. Jazz and R&B also shines.

At $450 it is a great value and you will not be dissapointed. I have a fairly decent 5.1 set up with mirage and energy speakers and a JVC receiver that handles the bass management trough the LFE/sub output. and below to the sub) as well as level controls for all your speakers and sub. Generally, this sub just really makes the bottom end of music be more present while it allows your other speakers to breathe better and focus on the MIDs and Highs. During hulk I could not only hear the LFE but also feel it. Warranty is also very good at 3 years with no extra charge.

Tight and detailed and easy to blend with my large mirage floor speakers. I had been keeping an eye on this items and I was psyched when it came on for 50% off. This Martin Logan sub however is miles ahead in quality and performance. I purchase this item on cybermonday when it was on sale for $325 shipped.

On this sub 4.5 or just past 11 o'clock and even at these setting this sub is louder, tighter, more detailed and just overall much more pleasant to listen to, oh yeah it is NOT Boomy, but it can boom if you do not place it or set it up correctly. If you can get this at 50% off, DO NOT EVEN hesitate and buy it it is a steal. This makes the blending of the speakers and the overall sound to be much better. I listened to a couple of my old TOOL albums (bass heavy, omnimous sounding) and lets just say that this sub refreshed my view of some of my favorite tracks.

This sub replaced a perfectly functional BIC VENTURI V1015 (ported 250watt RMS BASH amp) that I have owned for 6 year or so. I also watched Beowulf on dolby digital sound and Golden Compass on blue-ray. For music this think is awesome. My floors and couch felt it as well.
