The roller guide works fine for adjustment, actually better than a very similar one i used on a Makita palm router. I have a 16mm router bit and my routing limit with this guide is around 5mm. It is easy to make very fine adjustments without the guesswork, and the grips permit easy and tight fastening of the guide. The only thing to keep in mind is that the wheel itself is fairly big - you will need a larger router bit to cut more than 1mm.
This guide is easy to adjust and comes in handy. The bearing does not spin super fast and mar the workpiece like a bearing guided router bit can.
