User Comments about the Milwaukee 49-24-0280 V28 28-Volt Lithium-Ion Job Site Radio

Chose it for its design (heavy duty), its functionality (AM, FM, NOAA,and aux input), and sound quality (good reviews from tradesmen). Some folks did experience problems with the unit. They are processing a replacement. Priced very resonably for what you get. Easy and painless.

Just to make sure hum was not related to the AC in my home, I ran the unit off of a UPS that was not plugged into the AC line, and the problem still existed. I say loud because with the volume turned all the way down the hum is very noticeable. and the hum still exists. Bought this unit for use in my shop. I did read all other reviews prior to ordering. Looks like I have one also. Called Amazon rep and they called back immediately. I did isolate the unit from any external noise source such as flourescent lighting, etc.

I do like it. When plugged into AC and no battery in the unit--the way I will be using it-unit has what I can only describe as a loud 60 cycle hum coming from both speakers. I just hope this problem is not inheirent to product in general. With the volume turned up the hum is drowned out by the music, but if you listen at low volume the hum would drive you nuts-it is not acceptable.

The Milwaukee has noticeably better sound no matter how you set them up. The cord is also convenient as it is a pass through so it doesnt tie up the outlet. All in all I am extremely happy with my purchase. I purcahsed this radio to use primarily use as a jobsite radio. I like the fact that it has many nice considerable and usable features and doesnt worry about a bunch of other (just for show) features that you would probably never use.

Before I purcahsed this radio I went and used the display models of the Dewalt, Rigid, Bosch and Makita also. The FM reception also seemed noticeably better. It has a convenient aux. jack so you can connect an ipod or other external source to it.

great sound easy to operate. if it only had a built in battery charger for the milwaukee bateries it would be perfect

It would have been more valuable in my book if the radio was a little less fancy, and I could recharge my battery while I listen. This is a sturdy, well thought out radio. I use it regularly, and it is very rugged. Having the radio work off of any Milwaukie tool battery is nice. I also understand why Milwaukie decided not to put a battery charging system in the radio.

This is perfect for work. Love the aux input for my mp3. Tough, a little heavy , but works great.
