The issue is price. My old 1.5 AH batteries that came w/ my impact and drill are tired. I got a good price w/ shipping included.
I found this battery to be excellent as it was received. Of course, the real test will be, how long does it last.
Also batteries (all types) do not like the cold. It dont make sense, but it is true. By the way, if you buy a two pack of 18 volt makita batteries from amazon, you will pay more than if you purchase two (2) single batteries. I own 6 different 18 volt makita tools, from experience I found out its best not to store the tool with the battery connected, because if the trigger gets activated while its in your tool bag or whatever and runs down to nothing , and beyond it will not ever recharge again I learned this the hard way when my drill trigger got pushed into the on position accidently. so if you live in a cold climate such as I (9,000 ft elevation) in the colorado rockies keep your batteries in a warm area. Hope this info helps. At least above freezing temps, you will get a much longer life out of your batteries.
i bought the kit, and a spare is always great. i would buy this again. this battery holds up still going strong. pick yours up today.
I have purchase several of these batteries now and have not had one fail yet. I love the way they hold the charge for extended peroids of time when not in use and in use these Batteries last twice as long as my Sears Craftsman 18 volts ones do maybe three times as long and they are much lighter also.
