These are as solid as you think, and the holder allows for a quick sizing to occur while they're still snugged in the set. The free fold up set is not really for serious use though because of the inability to torque aggressively at anywhere near a 90 degree.
The Allen wrenches are well made and come in an excellent assortment of sizes. The handle that the torx wrenches fold into is plastic and feels a little flimsy, but this is a "bonus set" and didn't influence my purchase decision. The balldriver tip and long shaft make these wrenches particularly suited for hard-to-reach areas.I have not used the Torx wrenches, as I already have a set.
This is a good allen wrench set, the ball-drive end is a nice feature that makes it easier to use at an angle. I recommend this set. The star-drive set is a nice bonus.
