I own the Leatherman Surge for about one month and before that for many years, the Wave. I have used almost every part and would unqualifiedly recommend it. They are incredible tools.
I bought this to throw into the tool bag of my Harley before we left on an 11-state roadtrip. These should be standard-issue at the hospital nursery when baby boys are born. Just used the Torx-27 accessory bit yesterday to remove my derby cover for an oil change.
It's just so great to have a multi-tool on my belt that I can use for just about anything, anytime the need comes up without having to run out to the garage and search for the tool I need.
the second to pry/bend the fender out after wife was in accident - allowing the door to open normally. i highly reccommend this for everyone.i thought the changeable blades looked familiar. when i went to change the blade in the jigsaw i noticed that it had the same quickchange "t" shank as the surge blades so i tried it. in general it is a little bigger than other multitools but much stronger. fits perfect. the 1 and only problem with it is the very weak and hard to use lanyard ring but if you dont use them anyway its not a big deal. had a gerber diesel before this.
it can be worn vertically or horizontally for more comfort. within the first four days i had it it saved me twice. the gerber had a beefier saw and file BUT, on the surge they are quickly replaceable. there are all kinds of these available at pretty much every tool store so you dont even have to wait for your order to come in, just run down to sears. it has a really nice leather case that also holds penlight, pencil type sharpener, etc. once to replace a blown spark plug while on way to do a dj show.
it really does replace your normal emergency tool bag.
for every work is a 100% recomendable for any people. (para todo tipo de trabajo y 100 por ciento recomendable para toda persona)
