This is aggrivated by the fact that each hand tool may look like it may take a different vendors battery, however they are different and cannot be interchhanged mechanically or voltage wise. They found rechargeable batteries, that matched my drill, so I thought it best to order 2 of them. The batteries arrived quickly, and I was able to finish my project. LindsleySan Jose, Ca. Evidently retailers are not stocking chargable batteries for hand tools. Thank you, Amazon.Jack C.
They do sell battery powered drills and saws with one battery and one battery charger, but do not sell additional, chargeable batteries now. The only answer to this problem is to seek out a trustworthy vendor on the internet such as Amazon. Yes. Amazon comes thru again.
The replacement battery is much better than the original that came with my drill. The charge holds much longer, and the cycle is much more powerful.
Bought this battery as a replacement for my Kawasaki drill. Very happy with it. It is so much better than the originals and it appears to have 3x the life per charge, over my original battery right out of the box.
IT TAKES A FEW YEARS TO TELL IF BATTERIES ARE ANY GOOD. THEY DO SEEM TO BE FINE NOW.
Perfect replacement for original battery # 690071 or 691235 but the literature does not say so until you get the battery with its packaging. Batteries are the weakest link on portable tools, so buy with battery replacement in mind-- get them early before they are discontinued. It fits and works on tool set # 840055 which includes drill # 691234 and other tools. I will never again buy Craftsman tools because Sears deliberately changes their batteries and chargers so that they are never backwards compatible, and you have to buy new batteries at more than the cost of the original tool set.
