User Comments about the 500MAH Universal Ac Adapter

i consider it junk. it worked on my portable dvd player the first time, but the next time their were lines across the tv screen, so i guess i need to get a better one. it did get real hot just using it for 20 min. buy something name brand that will work time after time. and it stunk like burning plastic when i went by the dvd player.

Easy to use, well made. Very handy. Works well with the devices we have that use this size adapter but that didn't come with adapters. This way we can save some batteries and keep our devices (primarily a "Zounds" toy) chirping along.

The ability to change the polarity of the plug is especially handy. I also noted the voice activated item didn't work right on a Pearlcorder J500. It works great on most everything else I tried it on. Great for cutting back on buying AA and AAA batteries. This made be due to this being an unregulated adapter.

This adapter fits most standard power jacks built into many small recorders, scanners, routers, switches, etc. It doesn't include any of the ear phone type power plugs so one might make sure that's not what you need. One thing I did run into. I experienced some hum on a GE microcassette recorder when the unit was placed into recorder that wasn't on batteries or in play mode.

A very good product at a reasonable price. Bought 4 of these units to work with a wireless intercom and all worked fine.

If we hadn't disconnected it, it could have been very dangerous. this unit overheated while plugged in, powering a small set of speakers. Very troubling. I do not recommend this adapter. Burning smell wafted through our entire house.
