Editorial Reviews:

The Milwaukee 0779 28 Volt 1/2 in. Impact Wrench delivers 325 ft. lbs. of maximum torque, the most of any cordless impact wrench. Powering the 0779 is the revolutionary 28 Volt Lithium-Ion battery pack exclusively from Milwaukee. Combining high torque with 1,450 rpm and 2,450 ipm, the 0779 provides the power, speed and run-time to drive larger lags, drill bigger holes, and remove larger nuts. The powerful Milwaukee 28V motor makes breaking loose 'stuck' nuts a breeze. The heavy-duty magnesium mechanism housing provides extreme job-site durability. The 0779 comes equipped with comfortable non-slip, soft-grip surfaces that reduce vibration and fatigue. The forward/reverse shuttle is conveniently located above the variable speed switch for fast, easy access. Designed for heavy-duty use, whether driving large lag screws, anchors and bolts, drilling large holes, or removing lug nuts, the 0779 provides the power, comfort and run-time to finish the job. A heavy-duty steel ring (included) can be attached for convenient tethering when working high overhead or for raising/lowering the tool when working from a ladder or utility pole.

User Comments about the Bare-Tool Milwaukee 0779-20 V28 28-Volt Lithium Ion 1/2-Inch Cordless Impact Wrench (No Battery)

The 28 volt Milwaukee cordless impact does all it's claimed to do and more.I drive a race car, and this is a MUST HAVE for all racers. It installs and removes even the most stubborn lug nuts. The only down side is that it is pricy, but, very well worth the price. This is one tool I would not want to be without.

I purchased this tool for heavy maintance in in a quarry (one of the harshest enviroments for a power tool) where it was not possible to take electric and air guns we have it for about 2 months and it has quickly become the favorite for all repair work even when the guys a working near an outlet the electric guns arent used anymore I am going to buy 2 more

This thing puts my IR231 to shame in both speed and power. I talked myself into it by thinking about how nice it would be to have an impact wrench for junkyard hunting. Already having an air compressor and air impact wrench, it was tough to convince myself to get this. Anyway, I have yet to test it out in a junkyard, but since I bought this tool, my air impact tools have not seen the light of day. I would recommend this to anyone who wants real power in a cordless impact gun. It is heavy, but all I can say is WOW.

This is no lightweight, sort-of-works wrench. My only complaint is about how the ring attaches, you have to remove two screws from the gearbox to put it on. I picked this up after doing a brake job on my car and having to take the wheels off two times (amateur job you would say). But, if that's all I can find wrong, that's a good thing because I am sort of picky with my tools having been a former aircraft mechanic. All of these are very impressive tools as well. I have no doubt that if I needed to drive a large lag bolt or loosen a rusted bolt, it would get the job done. Will it handle large truck lugs, don't know, but for my purpose, work on my cars, it's just what the Dr.

I already own the V28 hammer drill, SawzAll, circular saw, and flashlight. I used it to take my wheels off again to work on my front brakes, and it will take off and put on a lug nut in a matter of seconds. This is just another in the extremely capable V28 tool line. ordered.

It is big and really heavy compared to my pneumatic one but the convenience of complete portability is worth a lot. I don't think I'll be bothering with the air compressor and hose anymore except to inflate tires.*I see the product dimensions are junk; it's 12" long x 11.5" high wi. The charge rebounded to 75% later as these batteries tend to do. I have a pneumatic one so I didn't really need this but when I stumbled across it on Amazon for 100 bucks cheaper then I've ever seen: $131+freeship, my tool buying reflex took over. I quickly put it to work rotating the tires on my one-ton and though it took a couple seconds to break some lugs free, the work went quickly; no charging the compressor, uncoiling the hose or finding the pneumatic tool oil. battery.**Flat tire already, lucky me, but I also used it on the plastic hub protector lugs this time and the trigger control was excellent, no stripping. 8 lugs per hub off and on all around only used 50% charge, though my right forearm was feeling the burn near the end.
