Sharp Tools Perform Better and Are Safer to Use
Whether you're a professional tradesperson or a serious hobbyist, you know that a dull drill bit can waste valuable time, result in lower-quality work, damage work materials, and shorten your drill’s life.

But unlike the relatively straightforward task of sharpening flat blades, sharpening drill bits by hand is a cumbersome and difficult task. This is what makes the intuitive, easy-to-use Drill Doctor sharpener so useful.

Three Easy Steps Ensure Bits Are Sharp and Effective
With the Drill Doctor 750X, you simply align the bit by setting it against the stop and locking it in place. To sharpen the bit, you turn the chuck an even number of half turns, depending on the size of your bit. As you sharpen, long jaws hold the bit precisely in place, and jaw guides eliminate jaw twisting on small bits. This secure alignment system ensures that you maintain accurate bit geometry and don't damage the integrity of your tools.

Once the bit is sharpened, the Drill Doctor 750X gives you the option of making a unique BACK-CUT split-point bit that gives your bit an extra-narrow chisel point, making it faster to penetrate and less likely to wander on the material you are drilling in to.

Additionally, the drill point splitting port offers a "Push to Stop" design that will prevent over-splitting the bit point. The adjustable material take-off allows you to change the amount of bit material that is removed to accommodate large, broken bits or extend the life of small, precision tools.

Engineered for Versatility and Flexibility
The same chuck can be used to sharpen bits of all sizes, from 3/32- to 3/4-inch, whether they are English, metric, or letter gauge bits. The Drill Doctor 750X sharpens a wide variety of bit types, from high-speed steel, carbide, cobalt, TiN-coated, masonry, and split-point bits for working with metal.

Professional Design and Construction for Durability
For added durability, the Drill Doctor 750X features a metal split-point port and a die-cast point angle shuttle. The tool relies on a permanent-magnet motor that produces consistent power, regardless of speed or load.

The Drill Doctor 750X also relies on an industrial-strength diamond sharpening wheel that won't change shape over time, and a cool design that means bits don't heat up and lose their tempering as you sharpen them. This wheel, which is good for about 200 sharpenings, is easy for users to replace.

As a bonus, the Drill Doctor 750X comes with a rugged shell case, making it easy to transport to the job site. This durable case offers internal storage space for your Drill Doctor, two chucks, two sharpening wheels, and a storage area for small drill bits or other accessories.

The Drill Doctor is backed by a three-year manufacturer’s warranty.

User Comments about the Drill Doctor DD750X Drill Bit Sharpener

We have a small improvemenent team that is almost daily using drill bits on all kinds of projects. We have purchased no drill bits since we have gotten the drill doctor and have been able to salvage many old bits making them close to new. We normally have to buy new bits of various sizes every few months ranging around $30 - 40$ in replacements over this time. Purchased this Drill Doctor for use at my work place. Since they have gotten this drill sharpener they have already used it 30 times in the last 2 months. No complaints on this product so far. It's easy to use, works fast, and sharpens the bits very well.

Overall a great product. This would make a great gift for any handy-man. It's easy to use if you follow the instructions - and did a fantastic job sharpening all of the bits that were headed for the trash. Other posts claim poor quality, but most likely the issues were due to user error (aka didn't read the manual).

I am thoroughly impressed with the DD750X snd would highly recommend this unit. Next, I sharpened three carbide tipped bits (3/16", 1/4", 3/8"), then I tried grinding a split point on one of the larger HSS bits. The bit drilled through the CRS effortlessly with two nice continuous chips. Also, the DD750X sharpens bits in a fraction of the time that it would take me to do it by hand, as I would ususally take several passes by hand before I would get a reasonably symetrical drill point angle and a good relief angle. Next, I re-sharpened a 7/16" drill bit with the split point and I did not experience any difficulty aligning the drill point on this bit as others have mentioned here. Today, I watched the DVD twice, then read the instruction book before sharpening my entire high speed drill bit set (3/32" through 1/2"). In these cases, i will get it close by hand and then use the DD750X to finish grinding the tip. The only time I will go back to hand sharpening is when I break a break or chip a bit and need to get remove a lot of material.

The back grind did not seemed to infere with the alignment procedure.I did observe that on some of the smaller bits (ie. I get a much smoother finish on my drill bits when sharpening them by hand even on the coarse wheel of my pedestal grinder.I have been sharpening drill bits by hand for 25+ years, but I could never get the consistency with an exact 118 degree drill point angle and perfect relief angles that I can achieve on the DD750X. So, I tried re-grinding a few of the smaller bits with an increased relief angle by adjusting the alignment guide one notch in the +ve direction as described on page 23 of the manual. I plan to utilize the DD750's ability to grind a 135 degree angle for drilling stainless steel and I am pleased that this option is available. I tested one of the newly sharpened drill bits by drilling through some 1/4" thick cold rolled steel bar. I received the DD750X as a Christmas present.

This was with the 118 degree point angle and standard relief angle. around 1/8" and smaller), that the relief angle visually appeared to be too shallow. The DD750X takes forever to remove large amounts of material. The only thing that surprised me is the relative coarseness of the ground tip on the drill bits. The DD750X worked flawlessly as advertised. Definitely much shallower than on the larger diameter bits.

The price on Amazon was much better than I could purchase locally. That worked perfectly and visually increased the relief angle as described in the manual.

I was a bit sceptical when I ordered the sharpener, but to my suprise it worked great. The next day I ordered 2 replacement sharpening wheels.I plan on keeping this sharpener busy. After I read the instructions and wanted to just try it out, I spent the next hour sharpening 2 full drill bit indexes I had on the shelf.

I HAVE TRIED OTHER DRILL BIT SHARPENERS BUT THE DRILL DOCTOR IS BY FAR THE BEST EVER, IT IS CONSISTANT, FAST AND EASY TO USE. I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT AS IT WILL SAVE YOU TIME AND MONEY.J C F II
