altho it mentions other heads for purchase - for thicker cardboard I couldn't find a merchant that sold these accessories.
I bought this product with the expectation that it will cut easily without too much manual intervention. The battery life is a complete disappointment though. But I must say this isn't one of Black & Decker better product.
One of the best purchases I have ever made. I love these electric scissors and use them all the time, they make wrapping gifts so fast and easy.
Those will cut tile and carpet but they are very cumbersome to use, and hard to make a straight line, and pretty much useless for even cutting paper in a straight line. This pair of scissors would have worked very well with their "versa pack batteries. B & D, if you are reading reviews on Amazon, which you should be. I am left handed and found them very comfortable to use. Consumers are tired of buying throw away tools when the batteries are dead and offering replacements for more than the cost of the original tool is not an option.Anyway I am pleased with my purchase and look forward to cutting wrapping paper and clipping coupons. The Skil does handle those ok, but nothing beats my old fashioned box cutter. And to those that are complaining it makes noise.all the power tools I have ever used do that, these do make a buzzing sound, but you can leave the hearing protectors on the shelf. It is disappointing that B & D and so many other manufacturers have gone the way of the non replaceable battery packs. I am amazed at the mixed reviews of the Black and Decker Power Scissors.
After giving them a charge of only 15 minutes I had to put them to a test, and quickly dispatched the folded in half front section of my newspaper into confetti.(the Roanoke Times, not sure it would do the same with the Washington Post) That is without the recommended 12 hour charge time B & D has in their instruction booklet. They cut paper very well, to those complaining they won't cut tile or carpet or wire, I really don't think they were designed for that and you should not buy these if that is what you are needing to cut. It seems Black and Decker has once again developed a product that people either love or hate. I am sure they will also do a very good job of cutting material for you sewers out there and scrap bookers will love them. I haven't had these long enough to find out yet if all of the claims of low battery life are true or not, will come back next Christmas with a review if I can't cut my wrapping paper for my presents with these. I wish I had put these on my Christmas list last year instead of the Skil 2352-01 3.6-Volt Lithium-Ion Multi-Cutter. The price here on Amazon is very good with free shipping on your orders over 25 dollars.
And if you are left handed it makes it even worse.I haven't tried these on one of those impossible to open blister packs yet.
Highly recommend, I use these to cut vinyl in which I make signage.vinyl die cut stickers. Charge lasts forever.
