If you want reliable burning and then reliable playback in non-computer devices, Verbatim is a good way to go. I have burned approx 400 music CD-Rs and 250 video DVD-Rs using Nero/four different DVD burners in three computers and have played back on many, many different devices with zero problems that I can attribute to the media. Of course I don't expose them to the elements in a car (sun and temp extremes) and I try to take good care of them. My Verbatim CDs from 2002 still play fine, as do all my DVDs (just can't remember exacty how old they are). Verbatim CD-R and DVD-R Media are both high quality media that have played back fine in every device I have ever tried them in during the last 8 years. I have also heard good things about Fugi media, but never tried them as Verbatim has always worked fine for me. Amazon with Free Super Saver Shipping is the best place I have found to buy Verbatim Media. I once was told the quality of dye in the Verbatim and Fugi is higher than in most, and burned media will also last longer.
I bought this a week ago and have burnt 33 dvds back to back without a glitch. Very pleased with the purchase. I have not lost a single dvd so far and the playback quality is excellent.
I have been using Verbatim DVDs for over 500 burns and I haven't found a bad burn yet. I think it has something to do with the Blue Azo dye they use, regardless of what it is I have found my brand of choice and would recommend them to anyone. With other name brand disc I was getting bad burns frequently when trying to burn movies or backup my wii games.
I have purchased a lot of things online but never DVDs. I would definitely purchase Verbatim DVDs again through Amazon. I checked out previous reviews on this product and they were positive and very helpful. I was very satisfied with my purchase. The cost was great and I have not had any problems with the product. -- Sandee from Indy I was concerned about damaged or defective DVDs but that has not been an issue.
Never get a bad one with verbatim. After burning hundreds they seem to be the most reliable and the printing surface on the disc is very good.
