about an hour, but I read the instructions while drinking coffee and analyzing the manual. Much simpler.First impression is that this generator is worth the money. You might get more machine with a Honda (very nice machines) but they are MUCH higher priced. First, I researched several through Amazon and manufactures websites and "kicked the tires" in the stores. Free shipping and no tax. Not a big deal, but a minor annoyance. Noise: Loud, but not overly so. if you or all the neighbors are out of power, no one will likely care anyway.
Went to my local Briggs dealer and had them in stock. I have also purchased a power transfer kit so that I can run the circuits in the house and balance the power load. I would purchase again. I was without power once too often, so I purchased this generator.
I could hear the engine pull ever so slightly and rev up to meet the demand. I received the machine in good shape and set up was about like others. The very wet and stormy spring and summer has finally taken its toll. Nothing very difficult about putting on the wheel kit or handle, although the axal lock rings ("e clips") were not in the box. Put the supplied oil aside and added Mobil 1 instead (firm beleiver in it). I only need this one in power outages and perhaps some incidental portable power somewhere.
no problem. For the money, I think this generator is good compromise of power (watts - both running and surge), ease of use, portability and function. Added gas, gave it a half a pull and it started right up. Only way to go. Plugged in shop vac, large chop saw and two other small power tools.
Needed to replace the original battery this week as the electric start was not working, but other than that super happy. We put it in a small rubermaid outside storage crate, and run it in that to dampen the sound and protect it from rain etc. I bought the old generac version of this 5 years ago and have been using it off and on for that time, including 14 days of 24hour use last year when we had a major wind storm. I ran all major appliances, heat and lights for that time (except for Stove). That works well and would recoment other to do the same (so will your neighbors shivering in the dark) Unit runs like a champ and has about 500 hours on it now.
I bought this generator in the spring and just had the opportunity to use it this past weekend. I truly offer my highest recommendation for this product. It kept my basement dry and saved the food in my refrigerator. Wow - I live in metro-Detroit, and we lose power quite often. We had a bad storm over the weekend and lost power for a day. It really works great. The generator started on the first pull and ran like a champ.
I'm very happy with my new generator. Only thing I would change would be more 30amp plugs other than just a twist lock. Filled with oil and gas and it started on first pull. Works flawlessly.
I had that gen. Please does any one know if I ordered the right one. I had a steel rack built on back of my trailer for the gen.and used a thin rubber mat for it to set on, & did not have any noticable vibration. I was told that Generac sold its lower wattage or recreational line to B&S. I recently had a 4400w.
This looks just like it. xl Generac which was chained, locked & stored in a secure storage place disappear from the back of my travel trailer,. for 6-7 years. I hope the one that disappeared blows up. was less noisey than the big fancy rigs at the dog shows, had a spark arrestor & was dependable.
