User Comments about the Delta 36-136 Universal Miter Saw Stand

As a home user, I can't comment on repeated use, such as a contractor. I reviewed this tool on the DIY network and was interested by the illustrated ease of collapsing the stand and placing it in and from a pickup bed. With tool, it is far to heavy and aukward for one person to load and unload without a ramp. The Delta 36-136 is great work platform. This is truly not the case.

It raises and lowers very easily, making it ideal for storing. I mated the stand with a DeWalt 715 miter saw, which required me to install an interface board between the saw and tool stand. (The tool stand mounting plates interfered with the saws mounting feet, due to a raised area on the saws mounts, when I attempted to mount the tool directly). This will inhibit quick mounting and removal from the stand.

At full height it was not level (about 6 to 8 inches off level). There were not enough holes to mount the saw. I used a board under it.

This Delta stand is a very heavy and high quality stand, but was not made for framing work. The short support arms make it very hard to cut much more than a 8' piece without additional supports.sawhorses, etc.

Elected one-day shipping (Prime) and it arrived as scheduled the next day.It took about 40-minutes to assemble using the instructions included. That's awesome customer service. Also bought the Bosch 4410L Compound Sliding Miter Saw (at Amazon) and it fits very nicely on the Delta. GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE.Happy as hell with this purchase, and recommend to all.UPDATE:Plastic Cable Cover replacement arrived today (15 OCT) via UPS Next Day Air. Ordered this stand from Amazon after reading all the reviews. relatively "Chinese English Free" and understandable. This is clearly a very sturdy and well-designed stand. Still happier than hell. Heavy, but that's a testament to its strength.Raising and lowering the stand is a snap, and while I'm currently using a Task Force (Lowe's brand) saw, I am purchasing a Bosch 4410L shortly and this stand will fit both without any problems. The positives have all been previously mentioned, and I agree with them wholeheartedly. The only problem I had was the plastic cable cover on the lower portion of the stand which was cracked in the box.I called Delta Customer Service and it took less than five-minutes to get a replacement on the way to me.

I love it. Just right. It works great, you can leave the saw on it and roll it around, load it on a truck, whatever.
