These polishing compounds are for buffing and polishing most metals including aluminum, brass, stainless steel, silver, gold, etc. and most plastics (cannot be used on low melting point plastics). A polishing compound chart on the back of the card shows the proper compound to use with each material. Basic polishing instructions are included as well.

I bought this set along with a couple buffer wheels to do some polishing of old brass door and window hardware. The products work as they should. The polishing guide in the back is adequate, but if you're a polishing newbie, as I was, you might want to read up a bit more elsewhere. Two useful points: use sparingly but frequently (touch to buffing wheel for less than a second and reapply often) and clean your wheel before changing compounds.
