It has performed above expectations. For quick jobs it is easier than dragging hoses and a air impact gun. It is a substantial tool but the weight packing it to the job is more than made up by the effort it saves at the job site. I've had this tool for about 18 months ago. On one battery it will remove 8 1/2 wheel lug bolts 4 5/8 gear box bolts and replace all on a center pivot sprinkler tower. It won't replace a good 1/2 drive air impact gun but it is a great addition to any tool box Some of the towers we have worked on have been running in water for over 15 years without a bolt being turned(it would be the equivalent of changing four tires on a 3/4 ton pickup).
Bought this impact wrench a few days ago and all I can say is its very well made , but its a little too big and bulky to be used in confind spaces but its great for lug nuts and old rusty bolts that you can get to. long lasting and quick recharge time, and Its hard to beat the 5 yr warrenty. The batteries on these units are by far thebest I have seen.
I HIGHLY DOUDT THIG CAN TAKE OFF ANYTHING OVER 100 FT/LB. VERY HEAVY, HIGHLY OVERATED, BUT IT WORKS FOR SOME JOBS. SO YOU GET THE IDEA. MILWAUKEE IS STUPID FOR RATING IT THAT HIGH. TRUCKS, BIGRIGS ETC YEA RIGHT. OK THIS TOOL IS HIGHLY OVER RATED.
IT'S TORQUED TO ABOUT 150 FT/LB. THIS TOOL IS HEAVY AND HUGE. SAVE YOUR MONEY AND INVEST IN SOMETHING THAT IS RATED PROPERLY. MIGHT BE ABLE TO BUST THE TIRE LUG NUTS FOR CARS. IT COULDN'T TAKE OUT MY HONDA CRANK PULLY BOLT TORQUED FROM THE FACTORY. IT DOES TAKE OF ABOUT 75 FT/LB STRUGGLES A BIT.
NOT STRONG ENOUGH LIKE MILWAUKEE RATING. THIS TOOL IS NOT FOR AUTOMOTIVE USE.
The tool has also been used regularly to drive lag bolts and concrete anchors in assorted construction projects. Great tool from an outstanding manufacturer. This 28 volt impact has the torque to break loose head bolts and lug nuts used in heavier trucks and SUVs on the road today. This device is heavier than needed for lighter applications but for brute force it can't be beat on the heavy jobs. The tools advantages are portability, power and consistent performance combined with a 5 year warranty. Mine is used in fleet service on delivery vehicles that require service remote from the central shop area.Tire changes on ¾ to 1 ton trucks are routine and require battery charges only at the end of most shifts.
(Dewalt is coming out with a 36v, 325ft-lb wrench). I bought this unit after comparing it to the Dewalt 18v wrench. Use of a torque stick makes tightening a breeze. Performed a few tire swaps and service on the trailer with ease, approx 60 cycles of lug nuts at 87ft-lbs., 50% batt usage. I just got the 0779-22 unit. The biggest selling point was the variable speed capability of the Milwaukee. It took me a few cycles to get used to the action.it can't quite compete with my IR231 pneumatic wrench, but I am very impressed non the less. The 0779-22 kit is a capable tool and I for one, am very satisfied. I have used this for a weekend of racing.
