Editorial Reviews:

Having the right tool for the job makes all the difference in the world, and this is definitely the right tool for a tiling job. It makes super straight cuts, clean miters and even makes curved cuts possible. The 1-horsepower motor powers the 7-inch blade through any kind of tile up to an impressive 1-1/16 inches thick, making the toughest part of a tiling job the very easiest. This saw recirculates the water, which does two things: It keeps the dust to a minimum and keeps the blade cool.

Setup is minimal, and you'll be cutting tile shortly after you open the box. It's got a smooth aluminum table that the tile glides on, and there's a second cutting wheel included, along with an extension table for handling larger tiles. There is a degree of mess, of course, so if you're using this saw inside, we'd suggest some plastic sheeting to protect any surfaces.

If you've tiled with a manual cutter, you'll be absolutely delighted with this saw. It's fast, easy and effortless, turning the most stressful part of a tile job into the most foolproof.--Kris Jensen-Van Heste

User Comments about the Plasplug DWW185US Master Tiler 1-Horsepower 7-Inch Tile Wet Saw

It can be a little messy with the guard not keeping the water on the tile. Great price and great product. It does the cutting. You may want to wear an apron. I did a whole bathroom, 5x10, and both of the blades that came with the wet saw was all I needed.

The guide arm is nice in that it has separate clamps on both sides so it doesn't slip while you are cutting. Easy to use, easy to clean up. Great for home projects. It doesn't make a mess while using it like the cheap saws do. On the con side: the arbor isn't perfectly straight and removable tile bed piece doesn't sit perfectly flat when in the down position. This was a good purchase short of buying a professional quality saw.FYI - This is almost an exact replica of the $400 Huffy saw at the big orange home improvement store I like the contained water reservoir, no need to refill in the middle of the project and it's easy to drain when you are done.

The problem was all the curves. Amazon customer service advised me to call the manufacturer, but that didn't help. I am now looking for more projects around the house to use it on. Having never used a product like this before, I was amazed at how easy it was to master. Luckily, the wet saw is pretty easy to figure out.

My wife had wanted a new kitchen counter and had bought 4" tile to lay over the existing counter. I was told I needed a wet saw to install them, so ordered the Master Tiler 1. I must say, the counters now look professionally installed and my wife thinks I'm a professional too. The only disappointment was not finding a owners manual in the box.

It's light and easily transported, but not terribly powerful. I began as a DIY homeowner and am now a professional remodeler and have need of a wet saw fairly often. But, if you don't need one for regular professional work, this is a handy little unit. I have what is essentially the same saw purchased several years ago from that big orange money-sucking store. As my the number of projects requiring a wet saw has increased, I've found it necessary to upgrade to a beefier saw.

This is NOT a commercial-grade tool. It's okay in soft stone like slate, but a little slow. The fence on it is somewhat hard to move and adjust. Cutting through granite or quarts may result in tripping the internal breaker repeatedly.

I only had problems attaching and setting up the protective guard. I cut tiles for two small bathrooms with lots of angles without any problems. The cutter was easy to use. Otherwise, a great tool and I look forward to using it again in future projects. It cuts fairly fast and very well.
