I own a large selection of Milwaukee tools and a few Hilti tools. For 90%, Milwaukee is a good bet IMO, getting Milwaukee products are like getting Hilti products for a little less money. However, if you work in punishing, demanding conditions everyday, all day, then Hilti may be the way to go for the very long haul.
I had two of these, both look like new as I lightly use them. Manufacturer's defect is the only reason I can think of. One died. The other still working.
I use mine alot so your results may very. Batteries are as good as they make. I own several cordless tools and found the milwaukee to me the easiest on batteries. The new Ion technology is promsing and I hope in the next 5 years to see batteries that will last extend periods of time without quiting Dewalt seems to last on a average of 6 to 8 months, where Milwaukee seems to last nearly 18 months before needing replacement.
The batteries seem to work as the originals. The price of the two pack is much cheaper then purchasing them separately at your local home improvement stores.
These batteries are steady performers and help to give my 18 Volt tools "second-life" after the factory original batteries wore out.
