Editorial Reviews:

Discover the newest and most affordable addition to Incras popular line of precision, state-of-the-art Miter Gauges. The V27 is engineered to provide a high performance, yet low cost upgrade to your table saw, band saw, router table, disk sander, belt sander or any other tool in need of a better Miter Gauge. Like all Incra Miter Gauges, the V27 delivers extreme miter cutting accuracy through the advanced combination of Incras exclusive AngleLOCK indexing system and its patented Adjustable GlideLOCK Miter Bar. 27 Precision V-Stops are laser-cut in solid steel to lock-in angles at exact 5degrees steps over a full 120degrees range, with special stops at plus and minus 22.5degrees. An oversized clamping knob allows cutting angles to be securely set anywhere between 5degrees stops. Four patented expansion disks adjust the GlideLOCK Miter Bar for zero side play, anti-friction travel on all shop tools with standard (or near standard) miter gauge channels. All of the V27s incredible precision will actually show up in your work because the bar cant wiggle around in the slot. Vertical work support surface doubles as a Universal Mounting Bracket that makes it easy to add just about any fence if you ever need one

User Comments about the Incra MITERV27 Miter V27 Miter Gauge

One even used heat to get that extra little bit.The adjustments are done with a bevelled little allen wrench screw which tightens down onto a plastic washer that has a slot cut in it. Also, when the device is pulled back so that the handle part is off the table, it tips out of slots that are not the T type. I would have gotten the Incra 1000se which comes with an extendable fence and a stop, very nice, but my sliding table had this feature and so the simple V27 got a wooden one.I found a piece of quality ply (it is really hard to find an absolutely straight board) and made an 18" fence and used contact cement to glue on a longboard strip of 100 grit sandpaper. This takes the pressure off the screw and makes it easy. The V27 does not come with a fence, so you have to either buy an aluminum one or make a wooden one.

In the end, the this set-up slides nicely without wobble and is totally accurate. This hasn't been a problem for me. I was going to grab my wife's hair dryer, but I tried this first and it worked: simply loosen the screw a hair, put a little slotted screwdriver in the washer slot and pry on it as you tighten the screw. I did all this adjusting while the gauge was in the slot and that worked perfectly. The problem is that you really have to bear down with the tiny provided allen wrench and even when I put a drop of oil on it, it simply was 'way too stiff and was obviously going to break something. Bigger screws would be better, or some sort of bevelled bolt.

For no more extras cost, Incra could improve this device, but I wouldn't wait for this. As you tighten the screw down, it forces the washer to expand out and it then all fits nice and tight. And, if it clears the table edge, there is a step under the adjustment end that requires lifting up so that it slides onto the table. The sliding bar should be longer so that the the device can be pulled back more on saws with smaller tables. It is easy to change angles and the more common ones are provided for. It does work as it is and I still recommend it.

There was some concern over this, that it might flex. Looked at them all and thought this would do the trick, and it does.Reviewers have mentioned that the adjustment system Incra uses is accurate, but difficult to adjust out to a wider than normal width slot. Hmmm, what to do. I wanted a simple and totally accurate miter gauge to compliment the more finicky sliding table on my old Ryobi.

It slides very nicely with no play. Despite the annoyances noted, and they are annoying on something that is not exactly cheap, the V27 is still the best miter gauge I could find in that price range. Why not make it all level and smooth underneath. My fence would bend before the metal part would.Three stars because the adjustment screw thing is too hard.

There are four of these adjustments, one being hidden under the handle (it is easy to access per the directions). Note that the holes/slots in the V27 are really pretty big, so you either have to use a typical short screw with washers, or find some short screws with big heads to make it nice and neat. This is my first fence with a sandpaper surface and it is soooo much better, really secures your work without the grip of death you need on slippery fences. The mounting part is bent heavy gauge metal, not something more exotic like machined aluminum. The wooden fence with the sandpaper is nice and secure.

I've used this miter gauge for at least three years now and it is dead on accurate and easy to use. If you don't need a fancy fence then you won't regret purchasing this one. I also believe that Incra has the best miter bar on the market. No slop, slides easily and never seems to need adjusting.

This is a quality miter. You can't go wrong having one (or more, to allow you to build up jigs).

Do yourself a favor and remove, replace or retire your O.E.M. It is a great all around miter gauge to be used on your table saw, shaper, router table, you won't be dissapointed. miter gauge with a inexpensive high quality/ accurate Incra V27 miter gauge that has has adjustable miter bar to totaly eliminate slop.

I would recommend this for accurate cuts like on picture frames etc. I think it needs the fence extension to make it perfect & real nice to use, just my 2 cents worth.
