However it has a universal bolt pattern now so you just flip it around and it bolts right up. It's exactly the same part that came on my Unisaw I purchased last month. Maybe all that cast iron bolted off the side of the saw has something to do with the sag. The right wing is discontinued by Delta. First, this is a factory correct part.
I got lucky, I took a sheet of paper, the same one I used to shim and flatten the other wing and extensions and trued it right up.What is wrong with you guys slamming this factory part as cheap and poor quality. It is the only cast iron wing Delta ships now and yes it is a left wing. Was it flat to the.001, of the table top. I think the only thing that keeps this extension wing from being perfect is some reviewers may have Incra fever.I would buy it again but I'm strange like that, I know what shim stock is and how to use it. No.
These are supported by my old Biesmeyer fence rails (8 feet long with a 12" left extension). Without the Biesmeyer you would need to provide other support. My first order from Amazon and all went as promised including the free shipping and the delivery date. The original 8" round cornered wing is now on the shaper.Support for all of this cast iron is very necessary, so the old Biesmeyer works well. I added the 10" square-cornered cast iron extension wing to the left side my 30-year old Rockwell (now delta) Unisaw to then attach a new Bench Dog ProMax cast iron router table outboard of the new wing. The entire combination works quite well. Thanks Amazon. The new Delta part fit perfectly on the old saw thanks to Eli Whitney and Delta's quality control.
This extension only took a few short minutes to bolt on, and one thickness of heavy paper was all it took to shim it to perfect flatness.
I bought this item to replace the stamped steel wings that I had on my table saw. Also, although it says that it has holes that align up with existing holes on the fence rails - they don't on my Delta contractor saw. It is good, not great. As others have said, it does not end up being square to the table.
on the right is just a melamine table, and I wanted something more substantial being that most of the stock being cut would be on that side. It is the platinum edition with the 30" unifence, and it was a great deal for a good intermediate saw, but even when new, it only came with the left cast iron wing. Two out of three bolt positions needed one beer can shim on the bottom, and the top is flatter than the whole rest of the saw (I don't yet have a dial indicator, so I can't say how far off it is). It was easier to align with the table than the left side, and unlike the left wing, it allows for attaching an additional item further outside the saw: my melamine table, your old stamped steel wings, etc.It was not perfectly flat or square, but I've never gotten anything cast that was square or flat (except from Starrett, and Lie Nielson). I purchased a used Delta contractor saw recently. This is a great addition to my saw. In summation, it's great, it made my saw better, and it was a decent price with free shipping on a 45lb item- it's all that I wanted, so I guess the one I got was better than the others negative reviews suggested. It is a MUCH heavier casting than the left wing (deeper casting ridges, thicker casting, higher quality looking machining), and is even heavier duty than the main part of the table.
