We've been using it to seal 2mm clear plastic bags and 16oz foil coffee bags (2 different settings). Overall, it's been working great. We've been consistently using it on a daily basis. Its very fast and it seals tight.
It does not suck air out, but a little manipulation of the plastic takes most of it, so it's fine for me. Then I ran across this. It is SO MUCH BETTER THAN THE OTHER JUNK THAT'S OUT THERE. This sealer should last ages. After viewing so many mixed reviews for the normal vacuum sealers, I had almost despaired of finding a sealer that would be of quality and not some piece of junk. The unit turns off at a dialed setting, seals almost anything plastic and is made from metal. I'm so glad I found this. When DD came over and saw it, she thought it was from the 50's because she's not accustomed to seeing things that are solidly made.
I use this product to make custom sized ziploc bags, turn ordinary sheet protectors into organizers for my wifes scrapbooking and sticker collection, and even make organized thin vinal cases for my garage tools. If you use very thin or thick plastic you will have to wait 10 seconds before opening in order to allow the seal to cool off or else the seal will wrinkle along the seal line, but there isn't a sealer on earth that can avoid that; it's simply the chemistry of heating up plastic. It works for every plastic I have put in it, and it is easy, noise free, and fast.
No other part of the machine gets hot, its done on the first try every try, it can even seal water into any bag. Boy was I wrong. I bought this being a little skeptical about the quality for such a cheap price. This seals everything. I'm amazed and very satisfied. I even took it into my business to seal what would of been thousands of dollars in returned merchandise.
